Cool Fim Trick

I was reading about the [Dyatlov pass incident][dpi-wikipedia] on a newspaper. Apparently a study from this year (2021) suggests the cause of the incident was a slab avalanche. I’ve found this site and it also has some pictures from the cameras found on site. I’ve saved a couple and used Fim to display them. I took a look at the manual for Fim and found the -t.option: -t, --no-framebuffer Fim will not use the framebuffer but the aalib (ASCII art) driver instead (if you are curious, see (info aalib)). Relativity of the Speed of Time Growing Up

It seems like that when you’re young time passes too slow and you never get old. Instead when you’re older it just slips away like sand. You just blink and 5 years are already gone. I’m not quite sure how it speeds up. I’d say logarithmically if I have to guess, probably you don’t notice it that much when you get really old. To announce it properly I’d say: Time gets faster the more you grow older. Read more

Terminal Setup

I can’t quite remember things, so I wrote down some steps to install stuff I like for my terminal setup. Next time I do a fresh install it should be as annoying as today. Colors Colors from the Solarized color palette by Ethan Schoonover. The dark color scheme is cool by default but i find the light one easier on the eyes when there’s a lot of light. fmt

Everybody loves Markdown, it’s pretty cool to get html from a text file, there are tons of programs that understands is and display it with nice CSS. I personally like to have my markdown files readable from a terminal. Let’s say 80 char per line, let’s say it’s easier on my eyes. There’s also some studies that says the average human being can focus on a maximum of 50 to 60 characters, 75 at max. Read more
